【News】QCC Now Offers Samoa Company Data for Cross-Border KYB

QCC has expanded its global company data coverage with the launch of Samoa Basic Reports. Compliance teams can now access structured company information for Samoa entities directly through QCC, including registration status, incorporation details, shareholders, key persons, contact information, historical names, and disclosed cross-border investments.

The new report consolidates company information sourced from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Labour – Samoa into a standardized format designed for KYB onboarding, counterparty verification, vendor due diligence, and cross-border risk assessment.

Samoa’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Labour maintains the country’s company register. Companies operating in Samoa are required to register, file annual returns, and report relevant changes to directors and shareholders, making registry information an important starting point for corporate verification.

This announcement outlines the new Samoa Basic Report, the information it contains, and how it can support a cross-border compliance workflow.

What new Samoa product is now available?

Samoa Basic Report. The report provides a structured snapshot of a Samoa company’s registration profile, ownership, management, contact details, corporate history, and selected investment relationships.

Rather than reviewing fragmented company records separately, compliance teams can use the report to examine the core information needed to identify an entity and assess its corporate structure within a single document.

Each report also includes a unique QCC Code and document verification function, allowing users to confirm whether the document was issued by QCC.

What company information is included?

Registration Information. Review the company’s registration number, current and local status, legal form, incorporation date, place of incorporation, registered address, and disclosed business activities.

Contact Information. Access available website, telephone, email, fax, postal address, and other contact details associated with the company.

Shareholder Information. Identify disclosed shareholders and review the number of shares held, ownership percentage, registration or identification number, address, and appointment date where available.

Key Persons. Review disclosed directors and other key personnel, including their positions, addresses, and appointment dates.

Global Investments. Where available, the report identifies investments held by the Samoa entity in companies outside Samoa. Fields may include the investee company name, registration number, status, incorporation date, subscribed contribution, paid-in contribution, shareholding percentage, and latest disclosure date.

Name History and Additional Information. Review historical company names, trading names, and deregistration dates to identify changes that may affect entity matching or historical due diligence.

The available fields may vary depending on the information disclosed for the individual company.

Why does this matter for cross-border KYB?

Company status must be verified before onboarding. A matching company name does not establish that an entity remains active. The report distinguishes between company status and local registry status and may also show removal or deregistration information.

Ownership may extend across multiple jurisdictions. Samoa companies can have corporate or individual shareholders located in other countries. Structured shareholder records help analysts identify these parties before conducting further ownership and sanctions checks.

Cross-border investments can reveal operating relationships. Where disclosed, the Global Investments section can connect a Samoa entity to an overseas subsidiary or investee company, supporting a more complete understanding of the customer’s corporate footprint.

Historical names improve entity matching. Previous company names are particularly relevant when reviewing older contracts, invoices, bank records, litigation documents, or screening results that may use a former legal name.

Standardized reports reduce operational inconsistency. Using the same report structure across jurisdictions allows regional compliance teams to apply a more consistent review process instead of interpreting different registry formats for each market.

How does the Samoa Basic Report fit a compliance workflow?

Verify the legal entity. Start with the registration number, status, legal form, incorporation date, and registered address to confirm that the submitted company information corresponds to a registered Samoa entity.

Establish ownership and management. Review shareholders and key persons to identify the individuals and companies connected to the entity.

Examine cross-border relationships. Use shareholder jurisdictions and disclosed Global Investments to determine whether additional overseas companies should be included in the review.

Screen relevant parties. Screen identified companies, shareholders, and directors through QCC AML Scan for sanctions, watchlists, politically exposed persons, and other available risk signals.

Continue the review after onboarding. For relationships requiring ongoing oversight, compliance teams can use QCC Ongoing Monitor, subject to applicable jurisdiction and data coverage, to track relevant corporate and risk changes.
